Skips of Berlin - digital photographs
2018 - 2021
In 2018 I moved to Berlin. The place seemed to be continually under refurbishment, a consequence of which was many many skips in the roads. The skips became a symbol of the struggle between people and gentrification: they blocked traffic and clanged with hollow noise as things were thrown into them, they confused local residents who searched for their bikes and doorways in-between them, opening like flowers during the day and concealing their contents at night. They were small versions of the city itself wrapped up in blue, red, yellow and purple.
